No Fail Sugar Cookies

This recipe has been floating around the internet for a long time.  I did not come up with it, and honestly I don't know who did.  If you know, let me know and I'll gladly give them credit.  I love this recipe!

1 batch:
1 cup butter
1 cup sugar
1 egg
1 teaspoon vanilla extract

3 cups flour
1  teaspoons baking powder
1/2 teaspoon salt

Triple batch:

3 cups butter (that's 6 sticks)
3 cups sugar
3 eggs
2 1/2 teaspoons vanilla or almond or whatever flavor you use

8 cups flour
2 teaspoons baking powder
1 1/2 teaspoons salt

Cream together butter and sugar

Add egg and vanilla. (or almond or lemon emulsion)

Mix dry ingredients and add to butter mixture. (I don't add salt if using salted butter)

Mix well.

Roll out to 1/4" thickness, cut with cookie cutters.

Bake on an ungreased baking sheet at 350 degrees for 8-10 minutes. You do not want these cookies to brown.... except ever so slightly around the edges. Happy baking!
